About Westminster Cathedral Choir School

Westminster Cathedral Choir School is an independent day and boarding school for boys aged four to thirteen, founded in 1902 to educate the choristers of Westminster Cathedral. The school is a registered charity under the oversight of a board of governors, with the Westminster Roman Catholic Diocesan Trustee as proprietor. Choristers are full-time boarders, while all other pupils attend as day pupils. A pre-prep department for Reception to Year 3 is housed in a separate building close to the main prep school. The school offers a classical and academically rigorous education rooted in the Catholic faith, alongside strong musical opportunities in support of the Westminster Cathedral choir. Boys are prepared for their next stage of education through a broad curriculum, sports, and a rich range of extra-curricular activities. Day pupils come from professional families across central, south and west London, representing a wide range of nationalities, while choristers join from many parts of England. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, with specialist help available where needed. Gifted and talented pupils are stretched through extension work, projects, and extra-curricular clubs.
