About Trevor-Roberts School

Trevor-Roberts School is a family-run independent day school in north London, welcoming boys and girls aged 4 to 13. Founded in 1955 by the late Christopher Trevor-Roberts, the school moved to its current site in 1981 and is today led by the founder's son and daughter, alongside a third proprietor who serves as finance director and head of science. The school is housed in two adjacent Victorian buildings, with the junior department for Years 1 to 4 in one and the senior department for Years 5 to 8 in the other. The school is guided by the motto Ex vita crea somnium Ex somnio veritatem — make of life a dream and of that dream a reality. Its aim is to help every child reach their own potential, develop a genuine love of learning, and arrive at secondary school feeling confident and well prepared. The school encourages pupils to question, participate, and communicate with maturity. Most pupils live within five miles of the school. Where needed, specialist support is provided for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia. The school uses its own assessment approaches rather than standardised tests, and its use of traditional year-group names alongside a distinct internal naming system reflects its strong individual character.
