About Hereward House School

Hereward House School is an independent day school for boys, located in Hampstead. Founded in 1951, the school moved to its current site in the late 1950s and has been under its present ownership since 1980, supported by an advisory board of governors. It welcomes pupils from Reception through to Year 8, organised across a junior, middle and senior school. The school aims to provide a warm, safe and welcoming environment where every pupil feels valued and comfortable. Academic ambition sits at the heart of school life, within a community that is also focused on pupils' moral, emotional and cultural development. The curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, as well as the most able pupils. Most families live within ten miles of the school and come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, making Hereward House a rooted part of the local community.

Mobile Phone Policy

From year 6 boys may walk to and from school independently. For this reason they may bring a phone to school which is then deposited with the school office upon arrival at the start of the day, and returned before they leave at the end of the day. Where boys bring phones for this reason, we encourage non-smart phones.
