About Sherrardswood School
Sherrardswood School is a co-educational independent day school in Hertfordshire, founded in 1928 and owned by Alpha Schools Limited. The school welcomes pupils from pre-school all the way through to sixth form, with all year groups sharing a single site. In recent years, the school has developed new sixth-form facilities and relocated its pre-prep to a more central position within the campus. The school aims to provide an education where pupils genuinely enjoy learning and are supported to fulfil their potential. It seeks to nurture the talents, personality and self-worth of each individual, helping young people to grow into caring and self-disciplined adults ready to take their place in the world. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, mostly from Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties. The school is committed to meeting a wide variety of learning needs, providing specialist support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and social, emotional and mental health needs. Support is also available for pupils who speak English as an additional language, and the school works to provide enrichment opportunities for its more able pupils.
