St Joseph's in the Park is a co-educational day school founded in 1898 in Hertford, later moving to its current home in Hertingfordbury in the early 1950s and becoming a primary school in 1957. The school welcomes children from Nursery through to Year 6, organised across three sections: pre-school, infants, and juniors. Pupils who need additional support in English and mathematics can access specialist provision through the on-site Woodlands Learning Support Centre. The school aims to nurture every child's academic, creative, and physical potential within a happy and caring environment. It encourages individuality and a sense of belonging, whilst building strong foundations for children's future learning and helping them to become life-long learners. Pupils come from families with a range of professional backgrounds and cultures, and most live within two miles of the school. The school tailors its curriculum to meet a variety of needs, including support for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as provision for its most able pupils.
