About Nottingham Girls' High School

Nottingham Girls' High School GDST is an independent day school for girls aged 3 to 18, situated just north of the centre of Nottingham. Founded in 1875, the school occupies a campus of original Victorian mansions and additional properties, and is part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST). The school is organised into two sections: an infant and junior school for pupils aged 3 to 11, which includes a nursery and the Early Years Foundation Stage, and a senior school for pupils aged 11 to 18. The school draws pupils from a range of family backgrounds across Nottinghamshire and the surrounding counties, reflecting the cultural diversity of the local area. It is committed to supporting every pupil, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, with specialist support available where needed. At its heart, the school aims to inspire and nurture girls to challenge stereotypes and develop the academic skills, leadership qualities, and compassion they need to thrive throughout their education and into their future lives.
