About Hollygirt School

Hollygirt School is an independent co-educational day school situated in four adjacent buildings in a pedestrianised area close to the centre of Nottingham. The school was set up in 1877 as a school for girls and became fully co-educational in 2014. It is owned by the Rhoda Jessup Educational Charitable Trust, whose trustees provide the governance of the school. The school sets out to offer a nurturing education in a warm, family-orientated community, aiming to help pupils thrive, fulfil their academic potential, and develop as socially responsible individuals ready for life. Its ethos of kindness, honesty, resilience, and hard work encourages pupils to develop respect for themselves, the school, and the wider community. Pupils come from many different backgrounds, generally living within 20 miles of the school. The school welcomes pupils with a range of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and provides additional support where required.
