About Heathfield School

Heathfield School is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18, founded in 1899. Governed by a board of governors, the school welcomes both boarders and day pupils, with boarding pupils living in houses that reflect the school's strong sense of community. Each pupil is assigned to one of four houses upon joining, and boarding arrangements are tailored to different age groups within the school. The school aims to help every pupil realise her full potential, leaving with the skills and talents she has discovered and developed during her time here. Alongside academic growth, Heathfield seeks to nurture a strong moral and spiritual sense, encouraging pupils to contribute positively both to their immediate community and to the wider world. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds, with most from the United Kingdom. The school supports a variety of learning needs, including pupils with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as those for whom English is an additional language. Specialist support is available for those who need it, and the curriculum is also adapted for the school's most able pupils.
