About St George's School (Ascot)
St George's School is an independent day and boarding school for female pupils. The school began in the 19th century as a prep school for male pupils before becoming a school for female pupils in 1904. It is a registered charity, overseen by a board of governors, and offers boarding across three houses catering for different ages. The school aims to be a place where pupils flourish academically, creatively, physically and morally, where risks can be taken and challenges embraced. It strives to help pupils become happy, responsible, well-balanced and resilient individuals, ready for the wider world. Pupils come from a wide range of family backgrounds, and approximately one-fifth are from international families based in Africa, Europe and Asia. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, with the majority of those needs relating to specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Support is also available for pupils for whom English is an additional language.
