St Francis' College is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3 to 19, rooted in Christian values and welcoming girls of all faiths or none. Founded in 1933 as a Roman Catholic school, it has grown to include a preparatory department for pupils up to Year 6, a senior school from Year 7, and a sixth form for Years 12 and 13. Boarding is available from Year 6 onwards, and the school has recently invested in a new preparatory building as well as refurbished sixth form and boarding facilities. The school aims to provide a stimulating, rigorous education that supports each girl as an individual, building creative and enquiring minds whilst fostering self-esteem, social responsibility, and personal development. Close individual care sits at the heart of the school community. Pupils come from local professional families as well as from a range of international backgrounds. The school supports girls with special educational needs and/or disabilities, providing specialist help where needed, and offers language support for pupils for whom English is an additional language. More able pupils have access to an enrichment programme, ensuring every girl is encouraged to flourish.
