About St Edward's School
St Edward's is an independent co-educational day school on the outskirts of Cheltenham, founded in 1987 following the merger of two Catholic grammar schools. The school warmly welcomes pupils of all faiths and backgrounds, and has been part of the Alpha Schools Group since January 2022. At the heart of St Edward's is a genuine commitment to helping every pupil thrive. The school strives to ensure that each child feels valued within a caring community, encouraging a strong moral code, a rich spiritual foundation, and an enduring ambition for self-improvement. Its aim is for pupils to grow beyond their perceived potential and to become positive, lifelong contributors to society. Most pupils live within a 20-mile radius of the school. The school supports a wide range of learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, with specialist help available for those who need it. Pupils for whom English is an additional language are also supported, and the curriculum is thoughtfully adapted for the most able pupils as well as those with particular talents in sport, music, art and drama.
