About Priory School
Founded in 1936 by the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, this independent Catholic day school in Edgbaston welcomes boys and girls aged 6 months to 18 years, regardless of faith background. The school became fully co-educational in 2011 and is a registered charity governed by a governing council. It offers an early years department for children aged 6 months to 5 years, a prep school for pupils aged 5 to 11 years, and a senior school for pupils aged 11 to 18 years, all on a single site. The school works in partnership with parents and guardians to create a caring community where every pupil is encouraged to achieve success. Determination, commitment and effort are celebrated, and pupils are prepared to become active and responsible citizens who can make informed judgements and strive for high standards in a fair and just manner. Pupils come from a wide catchment area and a range of social, cultural and economic backgrounds. The school supports pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism, and provides additional help for those who need it. Bilingual pupils and those learning English as an additional language are also welcomed, and the curriculum is adapted for the most able pupils as well as those with particular talents in sport, music, art and drama.
