About Essendene Lodge School

Essendene Lodge School is an independent, co-educational day school situated in a residential part of Caterham-on-the-Hill in Surrey. Established in 1966, the school is part of the Inspired Learning Group and is supported by a board of advisors on behalf of the proprietor. The school welcomes pupils from a range of professional family backgrounds in the local and surrounding areas, and does not select on the basis of ability. It aims to provide high standards of education within a nurturing environment, ensuring that every pupil makes progress whatever their ability. Traditional values, good manners, respect, and tolerance for others are central to the school's ethos. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD and ASD, as well as pupils for whom English is an additional language. The curriculum is also adapted to meet the needs of the most able pupils, ensuring that all children are encouraged and supported to thrive.
