About Willington School

Willington School is an independent day school located in Wimbledon, having originally been established in Putney in 1885 before moving to its current home in 1990. The school welcomes children from nursery through to Year 6, with three sections: the Early Years Foundation Stage, covering nursery and Reception; pre-prep for Years 1 and 2; and prep for Years 3 to 6. The school has recently become co-educational, with female pupils now present in every year group up to Year 2. At the heart of the school is a commitment to kindness, honesty, respect and humility, alongside a broad education that aims to help every child grow in confidence, take pride in their learning, and contribute positively to society. The school strives to support each pupil in reaching their full potential within a nurturing environment. Most pupils come from professional and business families living locally. The school supports a range of learning needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as those for whom English is an additional language. The curriculum is adapted for pupils identified as the most able, ensuring that all children are catered for throughout their time at the school.
