About Sydenham & Dulwich Girls
Sydenham High School is a day school for female pupils aged four to eighteen, located in south-east London. Founded in 1887 by the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), the school is governed by the GDST council, with a local governing board providing advice and support. The school has two sections — a prep school, which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage and caters for pupils up to Year Six, and a senior school — located a short walk apart and sharing many facilities. In keeping with its motto of 'Fear Nothing', the school aims to provide a first-class academic education whilst nurturing confidence, resilience, and independence of mind in every pupil. Pupils come from a diverse range of backgrounds and locations across London. The school supports 139 pupils with special educational needs or disabilities, and English is an additional language for 95 pupils. Pupils identified as more able are provided with extension work in the classroom as well as extra-curricular programmes.
