About Dulwich College
Dulwich College is a day and boarding school, co-educational up to the age of seven and educating male pupils up to the age of eighteen. Founded in 1619 by Edward Alleyn and moved to its current site in 1870, the school is organised into three sections: Ducks for children up to Year 2, incorporating the Early Years Foundation Stage; the junior school for Years 3 to 6; and the senior school for Years 7 to 13. Three boarding houses welcome pupils from the age of eleven, and the school is a registered charity overseen by a governing body of trustees. The school aims to ensure all pupils feel equally secure and valued, nurturing a supportive community that encourages a sense of social responsibility. It seeks to offer academic challenges that enable each pupil to realise their potential, whilst providing sporting, cultural, charitable and adventurous opportunities through which pupils learn to work co-operatively and lead. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds reflecting the wider local area, and the boarding community draws from over 50 different cultural and language backgrounds, including from overseas. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, pupils for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as the most able, adapting its provision to meet a wide variety of needs.
