About Stamford Junior School

Stamford Junior School, incorporating Stamford Nursery School, is an independent co-educational day and boarding school welcoming children from the age of 2 through to 11. It forms part of Stamford Endowed Schools, a registered charity, alongside Stamford School and Stamford High School for Girls, with all three schools sharing a common board of governors. A small number of boarders are accommodated within the school grounds. The school was purpose built in 1976, and the site has grown over the years to include a dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage block, opened in 2013, and a Year 6 building, opened in 2015. The school is organised into two sections: an Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged 2 to 5, and a junior school for pupils aged 5 to 11. The school aims to create a happy, supportive environment where learning is central and pupils are encouraged to achieve their best, develop their curiosity, and show care and respect towards others. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds, mostly from families living within 25 miles of the school, and a variety of nationalities is represented. The school is committed to meeting the needs of all its pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language.
