About St Teresa's Effingham School
St Teresa's Preparatory School is a single-sex independent day school for girls, founded in 1928. It sits on a shared site with St Teresa's senior school and is part of a charitable trust that educates both female and male pupils from age 3 to 18 across a range of settings. The trust became the school's proprietor in 2019, and both schools are overseen by the same governing body. The school is guided by five core values — faith, character, community, compassion and intellect — and aims to encourage every pupil to pursue academic excellence whilst developing strong personal and moral values. The school seeks to support, challenge and inspire its pupils so that they are well prepared for the future. Pupils come from families with a range of professional backgrounds. The school supports 38 pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, all of whom receive additional specialist help. A small number of pupils speak English as an additional language, supported by their classroom teachers. The curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of all pupils, ensuring everyone is appropriately challenged.
