About Cranmore

Cranmore School is a Roman Catholic day school situated in West Horsley, Surrey. Founded in 1968 under the leadership of Canon Peter Freed, it welcomes male pupils from the age of two to sixteen and female pupils from two to seven. The school is part of the Effingham Schools Trust and is organised into three sections: lower prep, which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage for pupils aged two to eight; upper prep for pupils aged eight to eleven; and senior school for pupils aged eleven to sixteen. The school aims to help all pupils fulfil their potential by fostering individual talents and providing for their needs within a Christian community grounded in the teachings of the Gospel. It seeks to promote the values of character, faith, community, compassion and intellect. Pupils come from a variety of backgrounds, with most living locally, though some travel from a wider area. The school supports a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and a few pupils have English as an additional language. The school also identifies its most able pupils and adapts the curriculum accordingly, including for those with particular talents in performing arts and sport.
