About Southbank International School Hampstead
Southbank International School Hampstead is a co-educational day school, founded in 1981, with the Hampstead campus opening in 1995. The school is owned and governed by the Cognita Schools group and welcomes pupils from early childhood through to age eleven. The school is organised into three sections: early childhood (including the Early Years Foundation Stage) for ages three to five, lower primary for ages five to eight, and upper primary for ages eight to eleven. All pupils follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The school aims to challenge pupils academically while maintaining a liberal ethos and nurturing a global outlook, within a safe, caring and supportive environment that encourages self-confidence, responsibility, and a sense of service. Pupils come mainly from professional international families living within a few miles of the school. The school supports a range of additional needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities such as dyslexia and dyscalculia, as well as a number of pupils for whom English is an additional language, some of whom receive specialist support from dedicated EAL teachers.
