About Norfolk House School
Norfolk House School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged between two and eleven. Founded in 1896 as a boys' preparatory school, it became co-educational in 1992 and merged with Montessori House Nursery in September 2014. The school is owned and governed by the Bellevue Education Group. The school is arranged across two sites. Nursery to Year 1, including the Early Years Foundation Stage, are based at the Princes Avenue site, while Years 2 to 6 attend the Muswell Avenue site, a short walk away. The school has introduced a system of core values underpinning the curriculum, a programme of outdoor learning, and a behaviour code developed together with the school council. The school aims to provide a stimulating and meaningful learning experience for all pupils, using up-to-date teaching techniques and resources. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds, many living locally, and represent a mix of ethnic backgrounds that reflects the nature of the local area. The school provides additional support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and the curriculum is modified for the most able pupils and for those with particular talents in music and sport.
