About Moorfield School and Nursery

Moorfield School is a co-educational day school located in Ilkley, with a history stretching back to its founding in 1930. The school moved to its current site in 1965 and is run as a charitable trust, overseen by a board of governors. It aims to provide an education that inspires kindness, confidence and creativity, nurturing each child as an individual whilst encouraging curiosity, resilience, independence and good humour within a happy community. The school welcomes pupils from a range of backgrounds, including a small number of families originating from outside the UK. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including those with dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism, and additional help is provided for pupils who speak English as an additional language. Academically able children are supported through careful planning and small group work tailored to individual needs.
