About Kew College Prep

Kew College is an independent, co-educational day school welcoming children from the age of 3 through to 11. Founded in 1927 and established as a charitable trust in 1985, the school is organised into three departments — Early Years Foundation Stage, infants, and juniors — with two classes in each year group. It is overseen by a board of governors and led by a headmistress who joined the school in 2013. The school aims to offer pupils a broad and well-balanced experience within a friendly and caring environment, where every child feels happy, valued, and supported in building self-esteem and confidence. Alongside academic learning, the school seeks to foster a sense of commitment, responsibility, and resilience to prepare pupils well for the next stage of their education. The school community is diverse, with pupils from a range of backgrounds and ethnicities. Provision is in place for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, for those who speak English as an additional language, and for pupils with particular talents in areas such as sport, music, and drama.
