About Horris Hill School

Horris Hill School is an independent boarding and day school for boys, located in Newtown. The school has three boarding houses, one within the main building and two elsewhere in the grounds, and also welcomes day pupils. A lower school department caters for pupils from Reception to Year 3, whilst older boys continue through the school's established programme. The school has been part of the Forfar Education group since July 2021. The school aims to provide an education with academic ambition that is tailored to each individual child. Alongside academic life, pupils are encouraged to explore their interests across sport and the arts, with the school placing importance on kindness, courage, respect, and resilience, as well as good manners, good humour, and a willingness to work hard. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds, with many families living within the local area and a significant number coming from further afield around the world. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, ensuring that every child receives the help they need to thrive.
