About Holy Cross Preparatory School

Holy Cross is a Roman Catholic day school for girls aged four to eleven, set in an historic house with eight acres of grounds in a conservation area on Kingston Hill in south west London. Founded in 1931 and moved to its present site in 1971, the school is owned and governed by the trustees of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The youngest girls, from Reception through to age seven, are taught in a modern wing, while older pupils aged eight to eleven are based in the main house. The school also benefits from a flood-lit sports pitch, an all-weather pitch, and a sports pavilion. The school aims to help each girl grow in Christian maturity whilst developing confidence, a love of learning, and a strong sense of responsibility and co-operation. Charitable values and an awareness of others are at the heart of school life. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds and live within a five-mile radius of the school. The school supports girls with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those who are identified as more able or talented, with the curriculum adapted accordingly.
