About Greenbank Preparatory School

Greenbank Preparatory School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged from 0 to 11 years, situated on the outskirts of Cheadle Hulme. The school has three sections: a Nursery and Preschool, each housed in their own dedicated buildings, and the prep school itself. Founded in 1951, the school became a charitable educational trust in 1971 and is administered by a board of trustees, many of whom are parents or former pupils. The school welcomes children of all faiths. Pupils come from a range of professional and ethnic backgrounds, reflecting the local community, with most living within 15 miles of the school. The school is well placed to support every child, whether that means stretching the most able, nurturing particular talents in areas such as sport, art and music, or providing care for those with special educational needs. At the heart of Greenbank is a commitment to providing a caring environment where values of courtesy, respect, and pride in one's work help every child to develop their talents, build self-esteem, and play an active role in school life.
