About Cheadle Hulme School
Cheadle Hulme School is a co-educational independent day school in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, welcoming pupils aged 4 to 18. Founded in 1855, the school moved to its current site on the outskirts of Manchester in 1869 and has grown over the decades from its origins as the Manchester Warehousemen and Clerks' Orphans' School into the thriving school it is today. Run as a charitable trust and governed by a board of governors, the school continues to value its heritage by supporting pupils whose family circumstances might otherwise prevent them from accessing the education on offer. The school draws pupils from a wide catchment area and a broad mix of social and ethnic backgrounds. It aims to provide each pupil with a challenging and relevant education that supports them in reaching their full potential, developing a genuine love of learning alongside a strong set of personal values, skills, and aptitudes that will serve them well beyond their school years. Recent years have seen investment in the school's facilities, including a new sports centre, new pitches, and a refurbished gymnasium, as well as improvements to the dining hall, classrooms, and library resource centre. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, and for those for whom English is an additional language.
