About Alleyn's Oakfield

Oakfield Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school with a history stretching back to 1888, when it was established in four former Victorian town houses. Owned and governed by Education Development Trust, the school is organised into a pre-prep department covering Nursery through to Year 1, and a prep department for Years 2 to 6. The school has recently undergone a programme of refurbishment. The school aims to help pupils become independent learners with enquiring minds, encouraging resilience, curiosity and a willingness to embrace new challenges. It seeks to nurture each child's individual passions and talents, with the goal of developing kind, articulate and thoughtful young people ready to contribute positively to the world around them. Most pupils come from the local area and, as a whole, demonstrate above-average ability. The school supports a range of needs across its community, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and pupils who have been identified as highly able or as having particular talents in sport and the creative arts.
