About Caversham Preparatory School
Caversham Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school founded in 1993. It welcomes children from Nursery right through to Year 6, with the school organised into three sections: Early Years Foundation Stage, Infants, and Juniors. The school has a current headmaster who joined in January 2023, and a supportive advisory board works alongside the proprietors. At the heart of the school is a commitment to creating a caring, family-like environment where kindness, tolerance, and mutual support are central values. The aim is to nurture every pupil to reach their potential, both academically and personally, while equipping them with the understanding, knowledge, and skills they need for an ever-changing world. Most pupils come from professional and business families in the local area. The school is attentive to the individual needs of its pupils, providing additional English support for those who speak English as an additional language, and tailoring the curriculum for its most able learners. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are also identified and supported accordingly.
