About Babington House School

Babington House School is an independent day school for pupils aged 3 to 18, located in Chislehurst. Founded in 1887 in North Park, Bromley, the school moved to its current site in 1957. It is co-educational from ages 3 to 11, girls only between 11 and 16, and co-educational again in the sixth form, which was established in 2014. The school is an educational trust, governed by a board of governors appointed by the trustees, the majority of whom are parents of current or former pupils. The school comprises an Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged 3 to 5, a prep school for pupils aged 5 to 11, and a senior school for pupils aged 11 and over. New facilities for performing arts and sports, as well as new kitchen and dining areas, have been added to the site. The school aims to challenge pupils academically within a secure, happy and innovative environment, helping them to become confident, independent learners and thinkers with high personal values and an awareness of their responsibilities in the wider world. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, with most from White British families living within a 15-mile radius of the school. A small number of pupils are from other ethnicities, mainly European and Asian, reflecting the local area. The school provides support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as the most able or with special talents in sport.
