About Eltham College
Eltham College is a selective, co-educational independent day school located in Mottingham. Founded in 1842, the school moved to its current site in 1912 and has grown over the years to welcome both boys and girls across the junior and senior schools, as well as the sixth form. The school is overseen by a board of governors and has continued to develop its facilities in recent times.
The school aims to educate pupils within a Christian environment, encouraging integrity, consideration for others, and enquiring minds. Community spirit, good humour, and courtesy are at the heart of school life, alongside a broad and balanced curriculum that supports pupils in achieving at the highest level and values service to both the local and wider community.
Most pupils come from a range of professional families living within around ten miles of the school. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as particularly able or talented. Classroom teachers and specialist staff work together to ensure that every pupil's needs are met.
