About ArtsEd Day School & Sixth Form
The Arts Educational School is an independent co-educational day school founded in 1939, bringing together two schools established by Grace Cone and Olive Ripman to prepare young people for professional careers in and around the theatre. The school moved to its current site in 1986 and is part of Arts Educational Schools London, a registered charity governed by a board of trustees. The school offers vocational training in dance, drama, music and art subjects, leading to BTEC qualifications, alongside GCSE and a small number of A-level courses. Some sixth-form teaching takes place at the Polski Centre in Ravenscourt Park. Pupils come from a wide range of countries and backgrounds, and around three-quarters are female, with the sixth form making up slightly more than half of the school community. The school aims to nurture each pupil's individual talents, helping them to grow into confident, creative and articulate young adults. Pastoral care and teaching are central to encouraging pupils' curiosity and commitment across both their academic and vocational studies. All pupils bring special talents in the performing arts, and the school is committed to supporting every one of them in achieving their best.
