About The Gleddings School

The Gleddings Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational day school situated in a suburb of Halifax. Founded in 1961, the school welcomes children from the Early Years Foundation Stage, catering for pupils aged 3 to 5, through to the junior school for pupils aged 5 to 11. The school is part of the Forfar Education Group, with governance provided by the Forfar Education Group Governance Board. At the heart of the school is a genuine commitment to recognising and celebrating the uniqueness of every child. The school strives to provide a safe and caring environment where pupils can develop their thinking skills, make good choices, and thrive both academically and socially. The school draws its pupils from a wide range of family backgrounds, with children travelling from within a 20-mile radius to attend. The school is experienced in supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as pupils for whom English is an additional language. The needs of the most able pupils are also catered for through the curriculum and extra-curricular activities on offer.
