About Ryde School with Upper Chine
Ryde School with Upper Chine is an independent co-educational day and boarding school on the Isle of Wight, overseen by a board of governors. Founded in 1921 and merged with Upper Chine in 1994, the school welcomes pupils from the age of two and a half right through to eighteen. It is organised into three sections: nursery and pre-prep, prep, and a senior school that includes a sixth form. Boarding provision sits on the school campus. The school aims to nurture the character, skills and values of every pupil, helping them to make a positive difference and embrace the opportunities of the wider world. Pupils come from across the Isle of Wight and beyond, with a small number of international pupils also joining the community. The school is committed to supporting the full range of learners. It identifies pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, slow processing speed and autism spectrum disorder, and provides additional specialist support where needed. Pupils for whom English is an additional language can also receive tailored help, and the curriculum is adapted for the most able pupils within the school.
