About RGS Surrey Hills
Box Hill School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 11 to 19. Founded in 1959, the school is a charitable trust governed by a board of governors, and was a founding member of Round Square, an organisation built around the educational philosophy of Kurt Hahn. The school includes a senior department, a sixth form, six boarding houses, six day houses, and an international study centre. A new sports centre and synthetic pitch have recently been added to the facilities. The school aims to nurture lifelong learners who will make a positive contribution to the world around them. It does this through the principles of internationalism, democracy, environmentalism, adventure, leadership, and service, whilst also focusing on developing each pupil's self-confidence and well-being across academic, creative, sporting, and pastoral life. The school welcomes a wonderfully diverse community, with thirty-seven nationalities represented among its day and boarding pupils. Specialist support is in place for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and the international study centre works alongside classroom teachers to support those for whom English is an additional language. Pupils who show particular abilities or talents in areas such as art, drama, sport, and music are also catered for through a modified curriculum.
