About Queen's Gate School
Queen's Gate School is an independent day school for girls, founded in 1891. Set in five Victorian buildings in Queen's Gate, the school offers places from Reception through to the sixth form, operating as a charitable trust overseen by a board of governors. The school's mission is to offer an education for life in a stimulating environment where sound values and individuality are nurtured within a supportive atmosphere. Pupils come from families with a range of professional and other backgrounds, and the school community is proudly multicultural, with many pupils speaking languages other than English at home. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as for those learning English as an additional language. More able pupils are identified and supported through an extended curriculum. The school draws pupils of above-average ability and is committed to meeting a wide range of learning needs, ensuring that each pupil is recognised as an individual and given the support she needs to thrive.
