About Pennthorpe School
Pennthorpe School is an independent, co-educational day school welcoming pupils aged from two to thirteen years. The school is organised into three sections: the early years, covering Nursery and Reception for children aged two to four; the Lower School for pupils aged six to nine; and the Upper School for pupils aged ten to thirteen. It operates as a charitable trust, overseen by a board of governors.
Founded in the 1930s, the school began as a boys' preparatory school in Chislehurst, Kent, before moving to its current location in 1948, when it became co-educational.
The school aims to inspire every pupil with the ambition to discover and achieve academic excellence, while nurturing each child on a personal journey of self-development. It seeks to cultivate and enrich an engaged, happy and collaborative community.
