About Littlegarth School
Littlegarth School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged two to eleven years. Founded in Dedham in 1940, the school became a charitable trust in the 1950s and moved to its current location in 1994. It is administered by a board of governors. The school aims to educate each child to the best of their ability through a broad and well-balanced curriculum, with a particular emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Each child is valued as an individual, and the school encourages pupils to develop a positive and ambitious attitude to life and learning, a sense of responsibility, and respect for one another. Close relationships between parents and the school are also greatly valued. Pupils come from a wide range of social backgrounds. The school provides additional learning support for a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and the curriculum is adapted for the most able pupils as well as for those with particular abilities in drama, sport, art and music. The school has also developed its woodland area to provide problem-solving and teamwork activities for all pupils.
