About King Henry VIII School
King Henry VIII School is an independent co-educational day school situated near the centre of Coventry. Founded in 1545, the school has occupied its present site since 1885 and became part of the Coventry School Foundation in 1975. It welcomes pupils from Year 7 through to the sixth form, catering for young people aged 11 to 18. The school is committed to helping every pupil discover their potential through an education that is both exciting and challenging. It encourages pupils to pursue excellence, to respect the beliefs and opinions of others, and to develop a genuine concern for the wider world and the environment. Most pupils come from professional and business families living within 20 miles of the school. The school supports a range of learning needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and adapts its curriculum for those identified as more able, as well as for pupils with particular talents in sport, music, art, and drama. A number of pupils speak English as an additional language.
