About Hulme Grammar School
Oldham Hulme Grammar School is a co-educational day school welcoming pupils from the ages of 3 to 18. Run as a charitable trust governed by a board of governors, the school follows a diamond model: pupils are taught in co-educational classes up to Year 6 and in the sixth form, while those in Years 7 to 11 are mostly taught in single-sex classes. The school aims to offer a modern education with traditional values, nurturing each pupil's potential by tailoring learning to individual needs. It seeks to provide a broad range of experiences within a family atmosphere, so that pupils leave as confident and socially adept young people. Pupils come from a range of professional families, most living within 15 miles of the school, and the school's community reflects the diversity of the local area. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as more able or with particular talents in sport, music, or drama.
