About Homefield Preparatory School
Homefield Preparatory School is an independent day school for male pupils, located on a purpose-built site on the outskirts of Sutton. Founded in 1870, the school moved to its present site in 1968 and is administered as a charitable trust by a board of governors. The school is organised into two sections: a lower school covering the Early Years Foundation Stage and Years 1 to 2, and a senior department for pupils in Years 3 to 8. The school aims to provide a safe and happy environment that encourages a breadth and depth of study skills, inspiring pupils towards academic achievement and the fulfilment of their potential in head, hand and heart. Pupils are encouraged to think independently, collaborate well with others, and strive not only to do well but to do good. Pupils come from families of a wide variety of social, professional and cultural backgrounds. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as more able, with the curriculum adapted accordingly.
