About Headington Rye Oxford
Headington School is an independent day and boarding school for girls, founded in 1915 and run as a charitable trust overseen by a council of governors. The school has five boarding houses, all situated on the main site, offering pupils a close-knit residential community alongside day pupil life. The school aims to provide a stimulating and enriching environment where pupils are encouraged, challenged and genuinely valued. It seeks to foster honesty, openness, tolerance and understanding, helping girls to become self-confident, independent and responsible young people, ready to play an active part in a changing world. The school welcomes pupils of above-average ability and supports a wide range of learning needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language. Specialist help is available where needed, and the curriculum is adapted to stretch the most able pupils.
