About Handel House Preparatory School

Handel House Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school located in a residential area of the market town of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Established in 1850, the school welcomes children from Early Years through to the end of primary school, with an EYFS department for children aged 3 to 5 and a junior department for those aged 5 to 11. The school is run as a limited company, with the proprietor also serving as headteacher. The school aims to encourage a love of learning through personal, social and academic achievement, fostering a sense of responsibility to and for one another. Most pupils come from neighbouring villages within a 15-mile radius of Gainsborough, creating a close-knit community feel. The school takes care to meet the needs of all its learners, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as those identified as particularly able, for whom the curriculum is thoughtfully adapted.
