Gidea Park Preparatory School and Nursery is a coeducational school with a long history, having been established in 1917 and moving to its present site in 1921. The school is part of the Inspired Learning Group of independent schools and nurseries, and is led by a Head who joined in April 2021. The school aims to build a happy community of fearlessly curious pupils who are proud of their learning. Most pupils come from within a five-mile radius of the school and reflect the ethnically diverse population of the local area. The school's ability profile is above the national average, based on standardised assessments. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including those with dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, and autism, as well as for pupils who speak English as an additional language. Provision is also made for more able pupils and those with particular talents, both within the curriculum and through extra-curricular activities.
