Bromsgrove Senior School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school, founded in 1553 and part of the wider Bromsgrove School family, which also includes a prep school, pre-prep school and Winterfold. The school is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, with the headmaster overseeing all four schools. There are six boarding houses on the main school site, which have recently undergone extensive refurbishment and development, alongside the establishment of a wellbeing centre. The school aims to foster tolerance, respect, compassion and humility, seeking to develop happy, confident and motivated pupils who live fulfilled lives whilst enriching the lives of others. Pupils come from a range of professional and other family backgrounds, and boarders include international pupils from 57 different countries. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as a significant number of pupils for whom English is an additional language, many of whom receive tailored support. The curriculum and extra-curricular programme are also adjusted to meet the needs of more able pupils.
