About Brackenfield School

Brackenfield School is an independent school situated near the centre of Harrogate, established in 1977 and owned since 2019 by Forfar Education. The school welcomes children from the age of two through to eleven, across three sections: a nursery for children aged two to four, an infants section for those aged four to seven, and a juniors section for pupils aged seven to eleven. The school aims to nurture a lifelong love of learning through a rich and varied range of collaborative experiences, with a focus on curriculum, activities, outdoor learning, and community. It places particular importance on helping pupils connect with nature and the environment, as well as encouraging them to engage with and contribute to both their local and wider communities. Most pupils come from professional and business families in Harrogate and the surrounding area. The school supports a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and autistic spectrum conditions, all of whom receive additional specialist help. More able and talented pupils are also catered for through classroom and extra-curricular activities.
