About Bournemouth Collegiate School
Bournemouth Collegiate School is a co-educational day and boarding school welcoming pupils aged 2 to 18. The preparatory and senior schools occupy separate sites around six miles apart, with the senior school educating pupils from age 11. The school has two boarding houses on campus and is owned by the United Church Schools Trust, with a local board of governors providing oversight. Originally a girls' school, it began welcoming boys in 2008. The school aims to foster resilience, courage, perseverance, integrity, honesty, kindness and respect. It seeks to help pupils achieve academically within a safe, happy and supportive environment where creativity, curiosity and freedom of spirit can flourish, whilst encouraging pupils to become socially responsible and well prepared for the challenges of a changing world. Most day pupils come from families living within ten miles of the school. The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and speech and language difficulties, and provides additional English language support for pupils for whom English is an additional language. A number of pupils have also been identified as talented in sport.
