About Beechwood Park School

Beechwood Park School is an independent preparatory school welcoming boys and girls aged two to thirteen, offering both day and flexi-boarding places. Founded in 1964 through the merger of two local preparatory schools, the school is run as a charitable trust overseen by a board of governors. It became fully co-educational in 1994, and the on-site Woodlands Nursery opened in 2015. The school is organised into three departments: the Junior Department, which includes the Woodlands Nursery, Reception, and Years 1 and 2; the Middle Department, covering Years 3, 4, and 5; and the Senior Department, for Years 6, 7, and 8. The school aims to nurture, engage, and inspire all of its pupils, providing a caring and enriching educational experience. Pupils come largely from English-speaking families in the local area. The school supports a range of learning needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, and speech and language disorders, with specialist help available alongside in-class support. Pupils for whom English is an additional language are also supported, as are those on the school's gifted and talented register, through curricular, co-curricular, and pastoral activities.
