About Aberdour Preparatory School

Aberdour Preparatory School is a co-educational independent day school founded in 1928, run as a charitable trust administered by a board of governors. The school welcomes children from the age of two, moving through nursery and reception, a pre-prep year, a middle school for Years 2 and 3, and a main school through to Year 6, when pupils go on to senior schools at the age of 11. The school aims to offer a personalised curriculum enriched by art, drama, music, technology, sport and entrepreneurialism. It seeks to help every pupil build self-esteem, a spirit of enterprise, and a sense of respect and tolerance, so that they are well prepared to make a positive contribution as they grow. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds. The school supports children with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, pupils who speak English as an additional language, and those who are more able, gifted and/or talented, ensuring that every child receives the support and challenge they need to thrive.
